Eligible Expenses

The Jane LeBlanc Legacy Fund reimburses approved expenses that are directly related to an applicant’s approved educational activity, learning plan, mentorship, workshop, course, residency, or other structured skills development opportunity.

Examples of eligible expenses may include:

workshop, course, class, seminar, conference, or masterclass fees

mentor, instructor, or approved coaching fees

books, scripts, scores, manuals, sheet music, and other learning materials

art, craft, photography, film, media, dance, music, theatre, writing, or other creative supplies required for the approved educational activity

software or digital tools required for the approved educational activity

short-term equipment rental directly related to the approved educational activity

studio, rehearsal, editing, lab, classroom, or workshop space rental where required for structured learning

accessibility supports required to participate in the approved educational activity

travel and modest accommodation required to attend an approved educational activity, where applicable

printing, copying, shipping, or documentation costs directly tied to the approved educational activity

other direct educational expenses that the Fund has approved in advance, where applicable.

Ineligible Expenses

The Fund does not reimburse expenses that are not directly tied to an approved educational purpose.

Examples of ineligible expenses include:

unrestricted cash requests

general living expenses

personal expenses not connected to the approved educational activity

entertainment or hospitality costs

gifts, prizes, or honoraria not tied to approved instruction or learning

expenses incurred outside the approved activity period, unless specifically authorized

expenses unsupported by receipts, invoices, or required documentation

costs unrelated to the approved learning plan, mentorship, workshop, course, residency, or structured educational activity

Important All expenses must:

be directly connected to the approved educational purpose

be reasonable and necessary

fall within the approved activity period

comply with Fund guidelines

be supported by receipts, invoices, or other required documentation

The Fund reimburses approved eligible expenses and may, in some cases, pay third-party educational providers directly. The Fund does not provide unrestricted cash awards.
