She Said Feck! Records

She Said Feck Records is a management and record label located in Fredericton, NB, established in 2018. SSF is currently representing 4 acts on a full time basis; southern blues quintet The Tortoise the Hare & the Millionaire, doom rock four piece HEAT $HEETS, pop punk quartet SOUND DROWN and four piece stoner metal Diner Drugs. SSF also retains several musicians on specific project based contracts for album and video releases, grant writing, royalty collection, social media support, and public relations/communication support.

Owner/Operator Kate Butler has a background in media studies/journalism (St. Thomas BA ‘06) and communications (Royal Roads MA ‘16) and over the past 7 years has focused on music based projects including long standing contracts with The Cap, Shivering Songs Festival, Peppers Pub, and Tide and Boar Gastropub. Butler has worked with such musicians as The Hypochondriacs, Penny Blacks, Janowskii, and Go Homeboy!.

Most recently SSF/Butler were nominated for an East Coast Music Award (ECMA) for Manager of the Year (2021). In 2020 SSF/Butler were approached to assist director Jillian Acreman with providing music supervision duties for her feature film, Queen of the Andes, which is currently in rotation at several film festivals across Canada. In 2019 was 1 of 11 participants in the CMI Music Managers 8 week incubator program in Toronto. Butler has been a Music PEI Juror, ECMA Juror, and Harvest Jazz and Blues Stingray Rising Star Judge. Over the past five years SSF/Butler has provided knowledge and expertise as a workshop presenter for Fest Forward, Fredericton Girls+ Rock Camp, and Flourish Festival.

In 2020 SSF committed to being an ally and ensuring venues, bars, and festivals provide and educate their teams, staff and volunteers on safer spaces policies. In the spring of 2021 SSF underwent the first portion of the safer spaces training, “Project Soundcheck: Bystander Intervention Training for Large Events and Mass Gatherings” facilitated by Sexual Violence NB. SSF will continue this commitment as we move to in person events again in 2021-2022.

She Said Feck are live music fans first with roots in the all ages DIY punk scene growing up with the likes of Moneen, Choke, Sylvie, Layaway Plan, Chixdiggit, Cancer Bats and Alexisonfire.
