Meet Our First Jane LeBlanc Music Studio Mentee Program MENTOR!

What you get: 10 hands-on lab sessions (2 hours per session)

Eligibility: Fredericton residents: 12 and Up

Cat LeBlanc is a New Brunswick composer, singer, songwriter, musician, and filmmaker who creates free-flowing hypnotic songs and music-scapes for film, music projects, and gallery installations. Her music is on multiple online music platforms. She has done artist residencies at ConnexionARC, The Banff Centre, and in Italy. Cat’s most recent experimental music projects explore memory and loss.


Cat released her debut album, Blue to Blue, in 2020, followed by two more albums, Another World and Conversations. She has performed at the Miramichi Folksong Film Festival, Beer on a Bridge, Fredericton Arts Alliance Arts Gala, River Jam, Fredericton City Summer Music Series, Fredericton al fresco, and in Italy.

This hands-on mentorship with Cat is perfect for a music artist who is interested in creating experimental music scores with and without vocals. Cat will guide you through her studio process of writing, recording, editing, and the music video production to go with your finished music. Her specialty is music scores and ambient music.

What is the Jane LeBlanc Music Studio Mentee Program?

A music studio mentee program that assists emerging music artists with their music creation and composing growth in a studio setting (in-person/virtual/hybrid). This program utilizes experienced Canadian and International music artists as mentors in-person and virtually. The mentor is paid for their time, and the awarded mentees benefit from being in a studio setting with an experienced mentor.


Submission Guidelines

Short paragraph or resume showing your emerging training and development in music.

Brief letter or email expressing why you think you would benefit from being mentored and specifics on what you want to get from the experience OR short iPhone video (2 min). This mentorship experience also includes grant-writing consultation with the Jane LeBlanc Legacy Fund and other mentorship and performance opportunities.
